| Gefechtsbericht A: | 14/02h14 Artl.-Gefecht mit 2 Trawlers. Lt. Carr (MGB 80) schwer verwundet [1] -- At 02h14 a large trawler was sighted fine to starboard and another to Port. M.G.B.s proceeded close up alongside the trawler to starboard being unobserved until the last moment when the enemy trawler flashed the letter G twice as a challenge. M.G.Bs opened fire at point blank range and the trawlers fire was almost immediately silenced, while M.G.B.s circled her riddled her with 2 pdr. and Oerlikon ammunition. The other trawler opened fire, and M.G.Bs proceeded to circle her engaged at a cables range. A third trawler a few cables to the eastward then opened fire with star shell 4 inch and 2 pdr. but all the enemy fire was extremely high and inaccurate. At 02h22 M.G.B.s disengaged to the north west and returned to Harbour. It is considered that one of the trawlers was very severely damaged and might sink as men were seen trying to get away in a ship's boat, and another somewhat damaged. M.G.B.s received only superficial damage and one serious casualty (Lt. R. Carr, C.O. of M.G.B. 80) [3]. |

| Gefechtsbericht B: | 14/03u15 hatte VP-Rotte V 707/704 bei Jersey Gefecht mit 2 Feindbooten, die nach 15 Treffern abdrehten [2] -- Rotte 707/704 auf dem Marsch von Lezardrieux nach Cherbourg. Um 13u14 S-Boot-Angriff auf V 704 von Bb. Gegner von 707 zunächst nicht zu sehen, greift aber um 03u17 ins Gefecht ein, beide Angreifer haben inzwischen nach Stb. gewechselt. 03u25 Nach 15x 2cm-Treffern drehen die Feindboote ab [4]. |
