| Gefechtsbericht A: | Artl.-Gefecht mit 2 Feindbooten, die jedoch entkommen.[1] - Three motor gunboats with A/S trawlers N.E. of Aldeburgh acting on W/T report found one E boat near 55 buoy at 0330 and engaged with Oerlikon gun. Hits claimed but E boat lost in smoke and fog patch. Air search at daylight did not locate any E boat. BEEHIVE reports: M.G.B. 60 reports that at about 0350/17 25 miles N.E. Aldeburgh Float, an E-Boat was encountered and engaged by M.G.B. 60 with Oerlikon and Port Lewis Gun. M.G.B. 64 engaged with four Brownings and Port twin Lewis Gun. M.G.B. 59 also engaged. G.6 reports small sparks observed after end of E-Boat appearance heavy oil or paraffin ignited. C.O. M.G.B. 64 reports hits by all guns. E-Boat disappeared behind smoke.[2] |
