KALYDON (272 Grt, 43 x 6 m.) Built in 1917 by J. Frerichs & Co at Einswarden, Germany as minesweeper F.M.5 for the Imperial German Navy. Bought in 1923 by Ath. Galaios; Registered in Piraeus (No.740) and rebuild as the passenger ship GEORGIOS GALAIOS. Sold in 1930 to M. Kalogerakou Steamship and renamed MARIA K., in 1935 to A. Potari and in 1938 to Ev. P. Nomikos who renamed her KALYDON. In 1939 she was bought by N.W. Greece Railways S.A. and in May 1941 she was captured by the German forces. Took part in "Maleme" convoy as S 103; survived and then served as a coast guard ship designated 10 V 1. Scuttled in October 1944 in Salonica during the German retreat.
