| Gefechtsbericht A: | Two coastal force units had short engagements with the enemy off the Dutch coast. One of them, a combined unit of 31st M.T.B. and 17th M.G.B. Flotillas was ordered to sweep from Ijmuiden to Texel for possible southbound convoy. Another combined unit of 22nd M.T.B. Flotilla and 10th M.G.B. Flotilla was ordered to sweep from Ijmuiden to Hook for possible northbound convoy [1] -> Following is report of operations by 31st M.T.B. and 17th M.G.B. Flotillas. At 0040 Two trawlers were sighted inshore 1/2 mile off Ijmuiden. Unit was challenged with letter K but fire was not opened. Units then split with intention of sweeping North with M.T.B.s to westward of M.G.B.s. At 0053 M.T.B.s were challenged by another trawler to seaward, fire being opened by this trawler and by those inshore. M.T.B.s increased speed and disengaged and when clear turned south to search for possible convoy astern of trawler. M.G.B.s continued to sweep North and from 0110 units acted independently. (C. in G.
