| Gefechtsbericht A: | Angriffe der MTB's 34, 32, 70 auf ein Geleit vor Scheveningen um 02h39 und um 04h00. Ein oder zwei Schiffe torpediert. Die MTB's blieben ohne Schäden oder Ausfälle [1,735] -- Torpedotreffer von MTB 34 (S.O.): keine spektakuläre Detonation, keine Wassersäule: das getroffene Schiff brach einfach nur auseinander und sank langsam, wobei es nur seinen Dampf abließ. Im 2. Anlauf war auch 70 (Saunders) erfolgreich: hier gab es die übliche dramatische Explosion [2]. -> (1) M.T.B. 34, 32 and 70 on patrol off Scheveningen reports convoy route navigation lights were switched on at 0140. At 0208 two Auxiliary vessels were sighted which joined up with a small convoy making 8 ships in all in line ahead in order of - trawler - 1000 ton M/V - 500 ton M/V - trawler - two 250 ton M/Vs - 1000 ton M/V - trawler. M.T.Bs. gained bearing at maximum speed on Auxiliaries (6.5 kts) but at 0235 moon disclosed M.T.B.s to convoy and star shell was fired. M.T.B. 34 attacked and at 0239 fired two torpedoes at 2nd ship of line from 800 yards. Kit was observed on this M/V. M.T.B.s disengaged on mains, and closed for second attack but came under heavy fire and disengaged. At 0400 a third attack was carried out, M.T.B. 70 firing one torpedo at last but one ship of line, hit considered probable. Only 6 ships were seen in the convoy during this attack. | Gefechtsbericht B: | 19./20.04.1943 Mit Feindbooten fanden in der Nacht mehrfach Gefechte statt, und zwar von 02u20 bis 04u00 von VP-Position 'Mainz' und von 02u45 bis 04u22 von HS-Booten vor Hoek [3] - Von 02u32 bis 04u07 Gefechte der VP-Position "Kairo" (V 2007) mit britischen Schnellbooten in mehreren Phasen [5]. - Aus der letzten B-Meldung, nach der um 0529 MTB 34 bei MTB 32 anfragt: „Benötigen Sie dringend Hilfe?“, geht hervor, dass mindestens 1 MTB bei dem Gefecht beschädigt wurde [8]. |
