| Gefechtsbericht A: | Angriff auf 4 bewaffnete Trawler. 1 britisches Boot leicht beschädigt und 1 Mann gefallen. - MTB 628, MTB 629 and MTB 632 with MGB 607 engage four German armed trawlers off Terschelling. One trawler is severely damaged and return fire damages MTB 629 and kills PO James Marshall [1] - At 0237 in 53° 33’ N, 05° 12' E obtained R.D.F. contact consisting of four flak trawlers. Avoiding action taken but not entirely successful and during ensuing short action, M.T.B. 632 was hit in engine-room causing leakage of exhausting gases. Unit disengaged and continued search. At 0313 the condition in engine room of 632 necessitated her to fall out of line. She then ordered M.T.B. 629 to take over the unit and to return and attack patrol vessels previously sighted. These were re-engaged at 0331 and action took place during which one enemy patrol-vessel was heavily damaged by gunfire and deserted by her consorts. She was then silenced, and left burning and sinking by the stern. At 0405 M.T.B.632 re-joined unit and action was dis-engaged. Unit then set course for home. Casualties: One rating killed. Slight superficial damage to boats [2]. |
