| Gefechtsbericht A: | Gefecht mit 2 Schnellboote in der Dover-Enge Schon nach kurzer Dauer sank eines der beiden durch Explosion. 4 Überlebende gefischt. Sie schilderten, dass einer der Ersatz-Torpedos an Deck von einem Schrapnell getroffen wurde, was zur seiner Detonation führte [1] -> Off Gris Nez an E boat was blown up by M.G.B.116, our forces sustained neither damage nor casualties.[5] -> At 2304 yesterday Radar detected two very small vessels off Gris Nez proceeding northeast at 34 knots. (2) Plots were passed to M.G.B's 116 (S.O), 118, 42 and 40 who were on patrol at "V" buoy and this force was given an intercepting course to steer. M.G.B.40 developed engine defects and returned to harbour and M.G.B.42 lost contact being unable to maintain the speed of the remainder of the Force. At 0015 M.G.B.s 116 and 118 intercepted two E-Boats about 10 miles north off Dunkirk and engaged the second boat at close range. M.G.B.118 lost contact early in the engagement. When the rear E-Boat disengaged followed by M.G.B.116 who fired some 240 rounds of 2-pounder and the same number of Oerlikon causing the E-Boat to blow up, both torpedoes exploding at 0031 and 0055. M.G.B.116 picked up four ratings including two slightly wounded but was prevented from picking up the remainder by sighting a wake. Though at the time this was thought to be enemy it is now considered likely to have been one of our boats which had lost contact. Daylight air R/C reported 8 further survivors on a raft close off Dunkirk [6] |

Teile der Besatzung vom Gegner geborgen. S 68 lief weiter nach Ostende.[3] - S 77 wurde vom Rottenführer S 68 praktisch im Stich gelassen. Der Kommandant S 68 wurde dafür von einem Kriegsgericht verurteilt [4] |
