| Gefechtsbericht A: | MTB 249 (...) allein, hatte Kontakt verloren, feuerte 1 Torpedo ohne Erfolg [1], - While detached from a Coastal Patrol off Cap d'Antifer during last night M.T.B. 249 attacked and was heavily engaged by the escorts of an enemy convoy, sustained some hull damage, and had one rating wounded [2].-> M.T.B. 249, who had become detached from the remainder of the Force, sighted three merchant vessels escorted by at least two M-Class minesweepers and six or more E/R Boats in 228° Cap D'Antifer 19,6 miles, and attacked. Only one torpedoed was fired and result not observed. M.T.B. 249 was heavily engaged and sustained some damage to hall and one rating was wounded, but not seriously. M.T.B. 249 was forced to disengage and enemy escorts continued firing on each other for some considerable time after. M.T.Bs. 252 (S.O.), 253, 256 and 257 were too far away to engage these targets and no other shipping was sighted [2]. |
