| Gefechtsbericht A: | Last night, two enemy convoys met off Sestri Levante (Gulf of Genoa) and were engaged, first by shore batteries and then by each other. Our coastal forces then attacked each in turn with torpedoes. One ship was blown up. Both attacks were made without casualties, despite very heavy enemy fire.[2]. - Angriff (MTB CO Lt.'s Raper, Aitchinson) auf 2 gegenläufige MFP-Geleite. Gegner feuern auf MTBs, aber auch auf eigene Fahrzeuge.[1] -> In the Gulf of Genoa last night, coastal craft again found north- and southbound convoys meeting off Sestri Levanti. Both convoys stopped and were attacked with 8 torpedoes. Hits were obtained on 2 coasters. One disappeared from the radar screen, the other was possibly sunk; and 2 lighters may also have been sunk. After our craft were clear both convoys were heavily shelled for 20 minutes by snore batteries, and after some hesitation the convoys joined an and engaged each other.[3] |
