| Gefechtsbericht A: | 22nd MTB erfasste ein Geleit [405] vor Egmond, bekam es in Nebel und Dunkelheit nicht zu fassen, wurde allerdings von Vorpostenbooten heftig beschossen. - On the night of 27/28 February several units were dispatched from Lowestoft and Felixstowe. The 22nd MTB Flotilla was already gathering at Lowestoft and three of the five boats were sent to intercept a convoy reported off Egmond. MTB 222 (Lt. Coombs), out for the first time, joined 83 (Lt. Felce) and 93 (Lt. Kennedy), but they never sighted the convoy, although MTBs were fired on by heavy patrol vessels [1]. |
