| Gefechtsbericht A: | PTs 217, 201 and 211 patrolled the the Italian-French coast between Sant Ampeglio and Cape Roux. Westbound Convoy of 4 F-lighters was sighted off Cape Nero. At 24h00 enemy opened fire, and PT 201 attacked with 2 torpedoes which failed. At 01h30 second attack on the same convoy off Ventimiglia. Enemy was again first to open fire, and PTs fired 5 torpedoes with no results. PT 217 trailed the targets for a third attack, while 201 and 211 provided gunfire diversion. At 02h00, when enemy passed Menton (France), another eastbound convoy of 3 F-lighters rounded Cape Martin. As PT 217 was in danger to get jammed between both convoys, 217 attacked the eastbound convoy with 2 torpedoes, but came under precise return fire of the enemy and had to retire.[3]. |

| Gefechtsbericht B: | 16./00.45 Geleit mit FP KOLBERG und JENA (von Imperia nach Nizza) zw. Monaco und Kap Ferrat von 3 Feindbooten angegriffen. Gegner durch gut liegendes Abwehrfeuer abgedrängt. Um 2u30 erneuter Angriff von 2 Schnellbooten abgewehrt [1] -- Gefechtsberührung hat am 15.07.1944 stattgefunden. Von der Vorlage eines Gefechtsberichtes wurde abgesehen [2]. |
