- 8.Minensuchflottille

Aufstellung am 14. März 1941. Sicherungs- und Geleitdienst in Westfrankreich, vornehmlich Biskaya. Freihalten der Ein- und Auslaufwege der U-Boote. Nach der Invasion ging die Flottille im Sicherungsverband Lorient auf, der Rest der Boote verblieb unter Nutzung des U-Boot-Bunkers in der Atlantikfestung St. Nazaire. – Nach der Kapitulation waren noch 5 M-Boote beim französischen Minenräumdienst mit deutschen Besatzungen, aber französischen Offizieren, im Einsatz [A].
