| Gefechtsbericht A: | Geplanter Angriff auf Kriegsschiff-Verband bei Etaples wird vorzeitig entdeckt und unter Artilleriebeschuss abgebrochen [1] -- Last night 30/31st, in anticipation of the movement of enemy units northwards to Boulogne, unit F.P.1 M.T.B.s. 486, 461, 465 and unit F.P.2 M.T.B.s 204, 240, 236 were despatched at 0100 when weather had moderated to position 50° 44' N. 01° 17' E. Aircraft reported and attacked repeatedly northbound shipping between 2340 and 0325, claiming 3 probable hits. At 0328 shore based radar reported 3 vessels of trawler size 6 miles west of Etaples proceeding northwards at 10 knots and at 0330 when all aircraft had been withdrawn, plots of the enemy were broadcast in the normal manner and Force F.P. ordered to attack. Shore radar reported at 0354 and 0356 two further tracks off Etaples of many vessels also northbound. (...) Force F.P. gained radar contact, closed to 1200 yards and illuminated one auxiliary vessel and 8 R-Boats. In face of intense counter illumination, heavy and accurate fire from enemy surface vessels and shore batteries, attack was abandoned and force withdrew without damage or casual [1] |

| Gefechtsbericht B: | 30./31.08.: Auf Verlegungsmarsch von Dieppe nach Boulogne mit 10 R-Booten, 1 U-Jäger, 6 A-Booten, 2 KFK's sowie einem Logger und 2 Schleppern meldet die 14. R-Flottille wiederholte Jaboangriffe (..). Anschließend kam es SW-lich Boulogne zu einem Gefecht mit MGB's, die nach Feuereröffnung und deckenden Salven der U-Jäger und A-Boote abdrehten. Erfolge wurden nicht nicht beobachtet, eigene Personalverluste geringfügig [2]. -- 31./04u10 Feindliche MGB-Gruppe mit 6 Einheiten an Backbord, Entfernung 5000 Meter. U-Jäger und Artillerieträger eröffnen Feuer mit 8,8-cm. Nach deckend liegenden Salven dreht der Feind ab, ohne das Feuer zu erwidern [3]. |
