| Gefechtsbericht A: | S.O. of Unit F.A. 7 (Lt.Cdr. C.A. Law; R.C.N.) reports proceeded in accordance with C. in C. Nore, other units F.A.8 (M.T.B. 486, 485, 481) and F.A.9 (M.T.B. 491). -> At 03h15 in position 51°59'24"N, 03°59'24"E by Q.H. fix, unit sighted what was thought to be 2 E-Boats on a southerly course. Unit F.A. 7 challenged and on receiving reply Z, unit altered course to close, still believing craft to be friendly. When at 400 yards range they were recognised as E-Boats, unit opened fire and immediately increased to full speed. E-Boats promptly took evasive action, making smoke; direction in which enemy made off is not known as they were still altering course when contact was lost. At 03h27 unit lost contact with the enemy and returned to patrol position. At this time an action was going on 4 miles to the north. At 05h00 unit left patrol and set course for base [1]. |

| Gefechtsbericht B: | 9. S-Flottille meldet 03u30 Gefechtsberührung mit MGBs in AN 8579 und um 03u50, dass MGBs die Hafeneinfahrt von Hoek sperren. Bitte um Unterstützung durch Gruppe "Kairo" wird abgewiesen, da die Gruppe ebenfalls in Gefechten mit Feindbooten steht. Erst um 04u31 kann die Flottille, an eigene VP-Boote angehängt, nach Hoek einlaufen [2]. |
