| Gefechtsbericht A: | Angriffe auf heimkehrenden HSK "Komet" vor Boulogne und vor Dünkirchen. Der Hilfskreuzer brlieb unbeschädigt, aber MTB 219 beschädigte eines der Geleitboote. Durch Abwehrfeuer 1 Mann auf 219 tödlich verwundet.[3] -- Early on the 28th, the Dover Command was involved in attacking a merchant cruiser off Boulogne and Dunkirk as it returned to Germany. MTB 218, 219, 221, and 56 had departed Dover and proceeded to number 8 buoy. MTB 45, 44, 47, and 48 had departed Dover and proceeded to S.buoy. MGB 14 and MGB 41 had departed Ramsgate and proceeded to V buoy. En route MTB 221, 56, and 48 developed engine troubles and returned to harbour. Raider KOMET was left undamaged, but MTB 219 [Lt. Arnold-Forster] damaged one of the escorts which was last seen with three R boats standing by. The Coxswain of MTB 219 was wounded and later died of wounds [3]. |

| Gefechtsbericht B: | German raider KOMET departed Cherbourg early on the 27th, escorted by torpedo boats T.7, T.4, and T.11 and minesweepers M.10 and M.153. The cruiser spent the day in Le Havre and departed that night with the three torpedo boats, five minesweepers, and six R boats.[3] -- 04u10 und 06u10 Angriff feindlicher S-Boote auf Geleit Schiff "45" auf Weg Rosa zwischen Punkten 9 und 14. Angreifer wurden bei erstem Angriff von Schiff "45" und 2. M-Fltl. unter starkem LG-Einsatz mit Fernkampfbatterien auf Entfernung gehalten und abgedrängt. Sie stießen danach auf die 3 sm hinter dem Verband als bewegliche Kampfgruppe aufgestellte 2. T-Flottille, von der sie gejagt und und aus nächster Entfernung wirksam mit allen Waffen bekämpft wurde. 1 Feindboot wurde vernichtet, 2 weitere beschädigt. Bei erneuter Gefechtsberührung mit 2. T-Flottille erfolgloser Einsatz von Torpedos und Wasserbomben. Im Nahkampf Personalverluste auf 2.T-Flottille und ein Leichtverletzter auf Schiff "45". Auf "T 4" leichte Beschädigungen [2]. -- Torpedo boat T.4 was damaged by fire from T.12, and a dud fired by one of the minesweepers. One of the MTBs caused personnel casualties on the torpedo boat with machine gun fire, wounding four, including the commanding officer. T.7 was also hit by machine gun fire, causing three dead and three wounded.[3] |
