| Gefechtsbericht A: | Special Intelligence material at about 1400/18 indicated enemy surface craft active between bearings of 150° and 160°. At 1452 this was confirmed by Dover C.H.L. distance about 12 miles. I therefore immediately despatched M.T.B. 69 and Norwegian M.T.B. 5 to investigate, the weather being overcast with visibility 3 to 4 miles. 3 large enemy trawlers about 600 tons apparently minesweeping on an easterly course were sighted in position 150° Dover 14 miles at range of 4 miles. M.T.B’s closed at high speed, M.T.B. 69 firing two torpedoes at a range of 3000 yards. 2 large columns of water observed amidships on rear ship. M.T.B. 69 retired under smoke as 4 escorting E or R boats moved out to the attack. M.T.B. 5 did not fire as enemy boats were attacking and her torpedoes were set to 1500 yards high speed setting. On retiring M.T.B. 5 was fired at presumably by E or R boats but not hit.[1] -> Angriff des MTB 69 und des norweg MTB 5 auf 3 große Trawlers in Position 14nm 150° Dover,, augenscheinlich Minensucher auf Ostkurs.
