09.09.1941 evaluated by the salvage specialist captain Meier as "not floatable" but salvaged later (presumably in 1942). According to the War Diary of Senior Officer Sea Transport Aegean Sea (Seetransportchef Ägäis), the repairs were expected to continue up to August 1944. [E][F]
14.07.1944 after the loss of the refrigerator ship SUSANNE at Episkopi, Northern Greece, the Kriegsmarine decided to reconstruct NAFSIKA (mentioned in the war diary as NAUSIKA) as a refrigerator ship to replace SUSANNE. [F]
10.1944 scuttled at Saloniki. [G]
Presumably, the steamer was never employed by the Kriegsmarine and scuttled by the German army at Thessaloniki. After the war, the ship was salvaged by the owners, repaired and put back into service as a passenger ship with its old name. [C]
