Ein Feindfahrt abgebrochen durch mechanische Probleme, 2 Tage. Am 06.04.1942 während des ersten Patrouille von U 657 trifft im Planquadrat AB 8155 mit U 591 zusammen. Während des Treffens kollidieren beide Boote miteinander und 'U 657' wird so schwer beschädigt, das der Rückmarsch zum Trondheim, wurden Reparaturen am Boot nach ihrer Ankunft am 11.04.1942 gemacht. Fünf Feindfahrten, 134 Seetage. Zehn Überführungsfahrten, 32 Seetage. Ein Feindfahrten ohne Rückkehr, 14 Seetage. 1 Dampffrachter 5.196 BRT versenkt. (Commander.
