Footnote : U-98 made an attack against a steamer of 10.000 grt on May 20th, 1941 at 18:36h in quadrant AJ3455, but missed her target. But the boat was obviously following the steamer to quadrant AJ6252 where she attacked again and observed one hit after the funnel, but no column of water. The vessel was going down after 33 min, and U-98 returning thereafter. There is a discrepancy between the official loss position and the position of U-98 (AJ6252 = 56.05n 42.14w).
