| Footnote : | The KTB FdU West reports on Dec.13th, 1939 an attack of U-23 against a steamer of 2.500 grt. The KTB reveals that Kretschmer did not untertake an attack on Dec.9th, 1939. So the record should be reassessed with an attack of U-23 on Dec.12th, 1939. This attack was made in Yell Sound, Shetland Island and proved to be on rocks which in uncertain light obviously had the silhouette of a ship. |
