Footnote : U-600 fired five FAT torpedoes, and heard four hits. Two hit "Irenée du Pont", which slowly flooded and was abandoned. The British corvette "Anemone"(K 48) tried to sink her, but the ship remained afloat. - The burning "Southern Princess" sank at 10.30h GCT. - At 16:08h U-91/Walkerling reported by FT that two steamers of 7,000 grt and 4,000 grt had been observed sinking during the afternoon. Both ships were not identified, but one of them may have been "Nariva", the other one possibly "Irenée du Pont".
