Footnote : "Shirvan" was sailing as a romper, after convoy UR.142 had been dispersed during a storm, when she was torpedoed by U-300. - "Godafoss" was passing the location with the rest of the convoy, and she stopped to take over survivors of "Shirvan" in spite of orders of the Escort Commander. - The tug "Empire Wold" was not part of the convoy, but had left Reykjavik to assist tank steamer "Shirvan" on Nov.10th, and was most probably fell victim to the bad weather conditions.
