Footnote : "Ringen" was part of convoy ETC.26, which arrived at Seine Bay on Jul.4th, already. Therefore it seems unlikely that U-763 sank this stamer on Jul.5th at 18.03 h. U-390 attacked convoy ETC.26 when almost mid-way between the Isle of Wight and the Normandy beachhead on 4 July, but was then hunted, counterattacked and sunk on 05/1457 by HMS "Wanderer" and "Tavy".
