Footnote : | U-105 attacked a damaged and burning ship, possibly "Lurigethan" (3564 grt), which was hit on Jan.23th by bombs of a FW200. HMS "Arabis" came alongside to help survivors and signalled that the ship was sunk by torpedoes on Jan.26th (K.W.L. Bezemer). "Heemskerk" (6516 grt) was hit on Jan.20th at 10:45h by bombs of a FW200 in convoy SL.61. HMS "Arbutus" waited with her for a tug, but the wreck sank on Jan.21st at 5:15h (K.W.L. Bezemer). |
