Amerikanische Kriegshaft im Kriegsgefangenenlager Ruston in Louisiana, isoliert in einem Sperrgebiet, um zu verhindern, dass dem Feind mitgeteilt wird, dass geheime deutsche Marinecodes in alliierte Hände gefallen sind. (Captured wounded at sea as 1st WO in U 505 with 56 crew members in the Atlantic, North-West of Dakar, 21°30´ N x 19°20´ W, after boat having been damaged for Wildcat aircraft from VC-8 Sqn USN of the escort carrier USS Guadalcanal CVE 60 and destroyer escorts USS Pillsbury DE 133, USS Chatelain DE 149, USS Flaherty DE 135, USS Jenks DE 665 and USS Pope DE 134.
